On a picturesque stretch of land nestled between two hills and surrounded by willow trees, the village of Sălcuța was born. From the very beginning, the locals devoted themselves to various forms of agriculture, as the soil proved remarkably fertile. Viticulture soon became one of the main occupations for many households. Thus began a new era — the era of wine.

The main winery was founded, where the talented locals of Sălcuța began their winemaking journey. Over time, it grew to excel in producing some of the finest wines in the region.

Eugen Pîslaru, a man deeply connected to the land and guided throughout his life by a passion for viticulture, decided to transform Sălcuța into one of the first wineries where the entire production cycle — from cultivating the vineyards to operating the equipment and installations — is personally overseen by him. He defined winemaking as his life’s purpose, a purpose he passed on to his eldest son, Sergiu Pîslaru, turning this passion into a daily commitment to growth and evolution.

Inheriting his father’s passion and ambition, and having been involved in winemaking from the very beginning, Sergiu Pîslaru initiated a new wave of modernization. He ensured that both the vineyards and the winery were equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology, which in turn strengthened international recognition and gave rise to our authentic, modern wines, crafted in harmony with local conditions.

Sălcuța Winery is recognized as the Best Winery in Moldova for its dedication to producing high‑quality wines, preserving local traditions, and upholding the exceptional standards of Moldovan winemaking. It is also acknowledged for strengthening the international image of the Republic of Moldova as a wine‑producing country and for its contribution to the development of Moldovan wine tourism.

A new step in the winery’s development: the production facilities were expanded through the integration of state‑of‑the‑art equipment, increasing grape‑processing capacity and ensuring enhanced control over every stage of the winemaking process.

Sălcuța celebrates 30 years of winemaking tradition, marking this milestone with the launch of the APERTUS anniversary edition — two unique wines created to reflect the winery’s maturity, vision, and journey over the past three decades.
